Read Aloud: Text-to-Speech for Any Reply
Have any answer spoken back with the system voices your phone already has — useful while driving or cooking, and for anyone who would rather listen than read.
Any reply can be spoken aloud, using the voices your phone already ships with. Tap it, or leave it on so every answer is read automatically.
What you can set
Voice and speaking rate, in Settings → Voice, alongside the speech-to-text language. System voices mean no extra download, no synthesis model competing for RAM with the language model, and support for whatever languages your phone already has installed.
Where it earns its place
Driving and cooking are the obvious ones. Less obvious: it makes a small model's output much easier to skim — a spoken answer you can half-listen to while doing something else is a different kind of useful from a wall of text. It also makes the app usable for people with low vision, and for anyone who reads slowly, without needing a separate accessibility mode.
Together with the rest of voice
With hands-free mode on, read-aloud closes the loop: speak, get an answer spoken back, speak again. That whole cycle — detection, transcription, generation, speech — runs on the phone, so it works with the radio off, and nothing about the conversation is recoverable from anywhere but the device in your hand.
